Barr & Associates Physical Therapy is a Therapist owned private practice facility. The clinic opened in 2008 by Dr. Jacob Barr with the philosophy that each patient deserves one on one attention by their treating therapist which results in a faster recovery process.

Dr. Barr is a licensed Physical Therapist and owner of Barr & Associates Physical Therapy. He earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1999 and later his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2005 both from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Florida, which he received in 1993. He specializes in the treatment of orthopaedics, osteoporosis, balance and gait disorders. He is Certified in Manual Therapy as well as Ergonomic Assessment.
Jennifer Young, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Young is a licensed Physical Therapist. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Science in 2009. She specializes in the treatment of orthopaedics, women’s health issues, balance and gait disorders. She enjoys running and spending time with her four dogs.
Mrs. Dahlen is a licensed Physical Therapist. She earned her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado in 1960 and her Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Loyola University of New Orleans in 2005. She was an Adjunct Professor of Physical Therapist Assistant Education from 1993-2000. She specializes in the treatment of women’s health issues, osteoporosis, geriatrics, balance and gait disorders, and CVA and neurological rehabilitation.
Lashanda L. Lovett, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Lovett has lived in Volusia County on and off for 20 + years. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a BS in Biomedical Science and later obtained her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida. She currently holds a certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation from the American Institute of Balance.
Garrett Sweringen, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Sweringen is a licensed Physical Therapist. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Science in 2020. He enjoys treating several neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions, and restoring gait and balance abilities through specific functional movement training. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, working out, and spending time with his family.
Susan Hrycyk, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Milena is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant. Born in Costa Rica and moved to Florida in 2001. She graduated with high honors from the PTA program at Daytona State College where she was Student of the Year in 2012. She also works as an Adjunct Professor in the lab at Daytona State College in the PTA program. Milena speaks fluent Spanish.
Andre Lacerda
Physical Therapy Assistant
Andre was born in Brazil and moved to the United States in 2005. He moved to Florida in 2014 where he earned his Associates of Arts and graduated with honors from the PTA program at Daytona State College. He speaks fluent Portuguese and has a passion for treating geriatrics and orthopedics.
Mike Evans
Physical Therapy Assistant
Mike was born in Marietta, Ohio. He served ten years in the United States Air Force and is a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm. He was an x-ray technician from 1999-2012 working in orthopaedic settings. He graduated from Daytona State College in 2016 from their Physical Therapy Assistant program with his Associates in Science. His recreational activities include golf and boating.
Reagan Vesely, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant
Reagan was born in Daytona Beach, FL and earned her Bachelor’s Degrees from Florida State University. She earned her Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Herzing University in Winter Park in 2019. She has a passion for geriatrics and sports related injuries.
Samantha Davis
Patient Services Coordinator
Samantha was born and raised in Ormond Beach. She has several years of experience in the medical field. She enjoys meeting new people and watching them succeed in their treatment here at Barr & Associates Physical Therapy. She has a young son, Kace, that makes her proud each day. Together, they enjoy playing football and going to the beach.
Tracy Desrosiers
Patient Services Coordinator
Tracy has over 12 years of medical office experience. She earned her certification from the Salter School in Massachusetts in 2009. She started her career as a medical biller for a podiatrist and learned from there. She moved to Volusia County in 2015. She enjoys traveling with her family and her two dogs.
Mrs.Barr has over 25 years of medical office experience. She is a licensed x-ray technician and has several years experience with orthopaedics. She earned an Associates of Science Degree in Computer & Business, Associates of Science in Allied Health and graduated from the radiologic technology program at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
